Hi old pals!
What ya up to?
Today the most fantastic thing happened. I had the opportunity to eat Fruit Loops!
Might I say that they are quite delicious. They are also really colorful. My parents do not usually purchase breakfast cereal so this was a real treat.
Anyways I just wanted to share some excitement from my life but know getting onto my topic.
What is the one thing that all teenagers avoid and fear like the plague? What is the one insecurity that deep down inside each human being has experienced And for those of you who claim you have not, might I just add that I do not believe you
The fear to stand out... The fear of rejection...The fear to be DIFFERENT.
Why do I fear being different? If I am supposed to accomplish anything in life don't I need to stand out and let my voice be heard?
right?
Well I was obviously wrong when when we had a substitute teacher and we were forced to endure a black and white film from the fifties.
I am sure that the whole class could hear the audible sigh that went on in my mind.
Yet as the movie went on it really caught my interest. It was about a Jury of 12 men that were supposed to decide the out come of a murder trial. An eighteen year old boy had been accused of killing his father and through out the whole court case all fingers were pointed at him.
As the twelve men gathered to decide a verdict eleven of the men pronounced the boy guilty but only one declared that he was not guilty.
In-case you are not aware there needs to be an all or nothing vote in one direction or another. Meaning that one mans vote hindered the jury from pronouncing a verdict.
It must not have been easy for that one man to stand up and say what he thought when everyone else in the room was voting a different way. But if he had gone with the crowd that innocent boy would have been sentenced to death.
One mans decision to be different saved the life of that one teenage boy and the life of his future posterity.
We can learn a valuable lesson from this... Black and White films are Fantastic! (well at least this one was...)
May I add that I think that we each can make a difference if we are willing to be different.
However if we lay in bed and watch I love Lucy re- runs all day with a package of double chocolate rush cookies and a half eaten doughnut we will not be able to help that one person that needs our help that day.
While the rest of the world might bombard you with certain ways that you need to look and act, just tell yourself that you are a child of a King; a Heavenly Father who loves you and you are going to stand against the wind and make a difference in the world for better.
Well I hope that yall have a prodigious day!
Remember who ya aren't !
TTFN!!!!!!!
