So Ya Wanna Be A Jedi?

How ya doing ol' chummies?

I am doing quite fine thanks for asking!

Today I was thinking about how awesome it would be if I were actually a Jedi knight... I mean come on who doesn't like Star Wars?

And then I realized that I still had to write a blog post, and so then it dawned on me like an inspiration sent from Heaven...I can write my blog post on how to become a Jedi knight.

So sit back, relax, and take good notes as I walk you through the different steps of becoming in-tune with your inner force.

STEP ONE:

The first step is you must realize that the life of a Jedi knight is only for a chosen few. You need to look inside yourself and ask if you are one of the chosen.

If you feel a burning sensation--close to how you feel with indigestion-- Then you could be one of the chosen... either that or it is just the nachos you had for lunch.

STEP TWO

If you happen to have any contacts within the Galactic senate then feel free to go ahead and use them.! If you are in no such luck like most of us out here in the galaxy then go and have your parents dress up like surrogates and have them admit you to the Jedi Academy.

For those of you who are orphans do not fret.  There is still hope for you. You might just have to wait for a Jedi to come and discover you.

After all it worked for Anakin  didn't it?

STEP THREE

Prepare yourself for the Jedi lifestyle. The rules and restrictions are similar to that you will find when you serve a mission.

Kiss your dating life good-bye. You do not want to end up like Anakin.

Prepare to never see your family again because  as sad as this may appear, it is a likely possibility. DUN..DUN..DUNNN!!!!

STEP FOUR

Now after you have prepared yourself you need to listen to your Masters at all cost.
Even if they make no sense in talk in jibberish.

"adkhjfa;jfoauif"

"Wait what?"

"alskhfja;jhi "

"And doing that will save my life how?"

Doing what they tell you will protect your life... at least until you mess up.

Along with this you must study.

I know you don't want to, but stop, complaining because you will only thank me later.

STEP FIVE

This is very important. Do not use the  force unless it absolutely necessary  And no--Getting Ice cream out of the fridge is not a necessary cause- Well, maybe if it is cookies and cream flavor...

STEP SIX

Please what ever you do, do not be tempted by the dark side!

Even if they tell you they have cookies, don't believe them...it's a lie.

STEP SEVEN
I realize that you have a really spiffy light sabor, but you are not allowed to go around playing with it.

Instead perfect your Jedi skills, and become cooler then master Yoda.

(Actually that is not possible, but it is my job to fuel you up with false hope).

STEP EIGHT

Oh my little Jedi is all grown up....Im a gonna misss ya:'(

You are now a Jedi Knight so go out and save the universe!
THE END

There ya go folks. I hope this is helpful throughout your life! Or at least as you try and quickly complete your homework assignment.

Random baby Yoda..

Awkward Elevator Moments

Even Luke has awkward Elevator Moments
Whats up peeps?

(Oh how I hope it is before nine o'clock so I can get full credit...)

Have ya ever wondered how to train your dragon? I have, but I am not going to tell you.

Today I am going to inform you about how to be Awkward In An Elevator. This is not very hard to do, but it is indeed entertaining.

So here it goes.

Step One: The first thing you need to do is locate an elevator in a public place where a lot of people will be.

For example, a hotel elevator, an elevator at your dads office, or even an elevator at an old peoples apartment complex. The main concern is that there just needs to be other people besides yourself using it.

Step Two: This is where the fun starts!

Ok, so picture this. You are inside the elevator and it is just you and one other person. Rarely, do two strangers talk in an elevator.

Your job is to say something that will just freak people out. Here are some sample phrases that are bound to do a good job.
  • Crack open your briefcase or purse. Pretend there is a small creature in it, and while peering inside, ask: "Got enough air/room in there?"
  • *Keep a straight face and say "I need to find a more suitable host body" in a really creepy voice, but with no expression on your face
  • In a crowded elevator Remain quiet and then suddenly announce, "Oh dear I forgot to use deodorant."

Step Three: Instead of talking to be awkward, just stare.

As soon as you see someone enter the elevator, turn your body toward them and just stare, It will be enough to give them the creeps.

Step Four: Now it is time to try Whistling and Singing.

This will defiantly make people judge you. I suggest whistling an annoying song that like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star over and over again.

Step Five: If you have done all the other above suggestions I recommend now doing relaxation exercises.

And I don't just mean some silent meditation. I mean full on yoga master!

Try to get the people involved with you and they will either join in or give you blank stares and pretend to be deaf.

Step Six: After completing a Yoga Session, it is now time to talk to your imaginary friend.

Have an in depth conversation, as if he were a real person.

laugh at his Jokes...Discuss his problems...and be prepared when the people in the elevator want to take you to an insane asylum.

Step Seven. This is the final step and very important.

LEAVE THE ELEVATOR WITH DIGNITY!

As soon as those doors open, step out and pretend that nothing out of the ordinary happened and walk away.

Besides It's not like you will ever see these people again...right?

And that My friends, is how to be awkward in an Elevator(:

So this was my How to guide. I hope that it is very much enjoyed by you guys. Have a magical evening and I wish the Boy's and Girls Basket ball teams the best of Luck!
Go patriots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh and one more thing. I still want a Cockapoo-- just wanted to let you know...

 Good evening!
Isn't he a cutie...

We're Still a Family

I was just looking on Lds.org and I found this video. It really touched me and I wanted to share it with you.

I am so thankful for my family and that Heavenly father will help us through the trials in our lives.

I feel so blessed to be in a home with wonderful parents that care for and watch over me.

Sometimes I wonder like what I would do if I woke up and was told that my mother and siblings had died.

I don't know if I would have been able to handle the situation with as much faith as this young man did.

So enjoy, and just realize that a family is forever. That is the beautiful part of God's eternal plan for his children.

Thanks for watching.

Some of my thoughts as I watched this is that I am so thankful for the plan of salvation. It lets me know that I was alive before I came to earth and that I will continue to live after this earth life.

I was thinking about premortal life as I sat in church today and I thought about what it must have been like to live with God.

It was then that it literally hit me, just how real and true this gospel is. I know for a fact that Christ is our Savior and Redeemer.

He is the one who made it possible to return to our Father in Heaven.

As I watched this movie I wondered if I were to die expectantly right now if I would be prepared to meet my savior?

Because we never know when we are going to die we need to always be prepared.

I just wanted to share that with you.

 Thank you.

Blogs and More Blogs...

Hello Friends!!!!

I just wanted to inform you all that I am in dire want of a cockapoo!!!!!!

For all of you whom happen to not know what that is, a cockapoo is a cross between a cockerspaniel and a poodel. They are pretty much fantazmagical!

With that out of the way I can now get on with what I originally wanted to share with you:

Blogs...Blogs...Blogs and more Blogs.

The first on my list, is obviously a blog about Cockapoos!

It is entitled; Town and Country Cockapoos.
http://townandcountrycockapoos.com/photoblog/2012/07/recent-pictures-of-brooklyns-surprise-puppies/

Well folks the reason I like this blog so much is mainly because of the pictures. There are so many pictures of adorable puppies that will simply make your heart melt.

The writing style of the author is descent and informative  with a certain comical twist that makes it worth reading.

The blog it's self it formatted nicely and you can tell that a girl is the one updating it because of the frilly background and elegant features... (Not to say that boys can't be good bloggers as well...).

Now that I have introduced you to the world of Cockapoos let me take you to a whole new land of  adventure!

Welcome to The Small Things Blog Spot: http://www.thesmallthingsblog.com/2012/12/daily-makeup-routine.html

It has lots of useful infomation about how \to style your hair and add cute touches to your outfits.

It is also gives nice tips on how to apply minimal amounts of makeup to help enhance your already naturally beautiful face.

I really enjoy the hair tutorial videos and although this blog is mainly for girls some boys might want to take note of the hygiene tips that it presents.

The writing style is relateable and it keeps me awake so I recommend it.

The final Blog in which I would recommend is for anyone out there that has a sweet tooth!

WARNING! IF YOU HAVE MIDNIGHT CRAVINGS FOR SWEETS DO NOT LOOK AT THIS BLOG BECAUSE IT WILL ONLY WORSEN YOUR CRAVING!!!!!

http://www.cakespy.com/

The blog entitled Cake Spy is a wonderful way to look at all the delicous new confections in the world. It has many links and reviews of many of the top bakeries in America.

The writing is not totally clean of grammical errors (but hey, neither is mine.!)

Again it is just a fun way to pull up complicated dessert recipes and mouth-watering confections.

I hope you enjoy these different blogs and remember to keep your chin up!

P.S. If any of you can think of ideas to help me to convince my parents to let me get a cockapoo please feel free to share.

Use your Talents to join the Conversation Online

Hello fellow inhabitants of the planet earth. I just ate a banana and it tasted rather bananan-y... go figure.

That was a total random thought that doesn't make any sense, and you are probably wondering why you are reading this blog post.

The answer to that my friends is simple. You HAVE to read this because it is an assignment and the teacher is holding your good grade hostage until you do. Haha!!!!

I love it when people are forced to read the senseless things I write(:
Now onto the actual topic--  Talents.

Talents.

Talents...

Talents???? What talents?

First of all what are my talents? Well I don't mean to brag, but I think that I am pretty good at eating BBQ potato chips and watching movies. Yes I know, those are unbelievable talents, but someone has to do them.

Some other of my more productive talents might include smiling, talking during class, and in some circumstances writing.

What are your talents????? Are they as impressive as mine? Maybe they are and maybe they are not. For your sake, hopefully they are more impressive.

The next question I would like to bring up is how can we as people use our talents to share the gospel?. There are many answers to this, but I think some simple examples are smiling, and just saying hello.'

I consider these things talents because not everyone will smile at people they see, and likewise they will not say hello. When we share these small talents with others it lets them know that they matter and don't we all deserve to feel like we matter?

Another way we can use our talents is by following the advice given in a Talk by Elder Ballard and share the gospel online. We can do this in simple ways like blogging, liking something gospely on Facebook, and showing a mutual respect for people online.

What really matters is that we take those talents that we have and share them.

So go and do...

Something to Ponder ...College Week

Reflection of the Past week
Once again I am procrastinating. I procrastinated doing my math by reading a book, and now I am procrastinating doing my math by posting on this blog. Ha ha I guess I'll never learn that it is just easier to do things on-time.

Well this past week of visiting colleges proved to be the light at the end of a dreary tunnel of darkness. I nearly killed my last brain cell studying for finals. A week of college field trips was just what the doctor ordered to heal my malnourished brain.

I am going to be rather blunt. Brigham Young University was and is my favorite school visited because of the special spirit I felt there and the fact I have been raised in cougar town!

However my opinion of the U of U have been changed for the better as I no longer view them as belonging to the devil. They have a really prodigious Library complete with fantastical womb chairs.

As far as food court awards I think UVU took first place (they gave me free Jamba Juice.)

All in all my over all favorite part was spending time with my classmates and watching our different relationships grow as we began to get to know each other better. Wonderful memories as well as inside jokes were formed that will never be forgotten... no matter how hard I try.

Each tour seemed to open my mind to the wonderful new pathway of college; which I will soon find myself traveling. The heavy questions of Who am I, what was I born to do, and what is stopping me have actually been on my mind more now then in any other time of my life.

I have been wondering where I will be in the next ten years and the people that will be involved in my life. Will I still have the same friends? Will I be married to my high school crush? Will I have a cockapoo? are also part of the questions I have been seriously considering.

Although I can not answer all of those questions now, I can begin to answer some.

Who am I?

I am Mikaela, thank you for asking.

I am a daughter of God. I am shortstop for my softball team, and goalie for my soccer team. I am the older sister of 4 siblings that I love with all my heart! (especially you Ryan). I am soon to be graduated from High School, but for right now I am just trying to pass Algebra 2...(Yes I realize I am not a math person.), but most of all I am a person who loves life and I love waking up every morning alive.

Now that I have successfully covered that one, let me answer the next allotted question...What was I born to do?

Hmmm, I'm not sure yet, but for right now I think I was born to write and help others find the gospel through the things that I write. I realize that I am not very proficient at this (especially with the grammical aspect of things), but it is something I find joy in doing.

The last question; What is stopping me? That's easy. The fear to fail. The fear to be rejected. The fear to be different. THE FEAR. I am afraid. That is my biggest weakness and the main thing that I need to over come in this life time. I am thankful however that God loves me and will help me over come my phobia of fear.

Keep your chins up an remember to not fear success.

Share the Gospel Online with Respect

The Spirit is the Greatest Teacher

“We simply need to have a conversation, as friends in the same room would have, always guided by the prompting of the Spirit and constantly remembering the Atonement of the Lord Jesus Christ, which reminds us of how precious are the children of our Father in Heaven.”

While reading Elder Ballard's talk I was inspired by this quote. I am no where near perfect, (surprisesurprise  and I sometimes struggle with how I should share the gospel with people, especially online. I can barley continue a text conversation let alone an online discussion. Elder Ballard offers some great words of wisdom in his talk by telling me to just pretend that I am talking to them face to face, and to still show them respect.

Respect, that is key.

Respect for there religion. Respect for there conviction and understanding. Respect for there curiosity and wanting to know the truth. No one will want to ask you questions if they don't feel that mutual respect.

As always  it is important to take certain precautions online and always listen to the spirit. The spirit is the real teacher. He can communicate in every tongue and to every heart. He can reach inside and allow all people of every race to feel united in one solemn cause. We are all children of a Loving Heavenly Father who loves us and wants us to enjoy everything this earth life has to offer. Using the internet as a tool to help spread this significant message of His love is a blessing.

Because I am already online posting about sharing the Gospel, I would just like to take advantage of technology and share with you what I feel.  I am so grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ and for the power of prayer. So many times this past week I have been praying about things that didn't seem very important to anyone, but me. Some might call it being selfish and I don't blame them, but Heavenly Father answered each one of those small prayers. As I was reflecting on this I was reminded of a quote that I had heard from my bishop. "If it is important enough to matter to you, then it is important enough to matter to him."

I just want to let you all know that no matter what is currently going on in your life, whether it is stress from homework, or a job, Heavenly Father is aware of you and he cares. He cares when you stub your tow and you have an unpleasant second of pain. He cares when red punch spills all over your clean white shirt. He cares for the people starving in Africa who don't even have a tooth brush. He cares for the men in the military that wake up every morning knowing that at any second they could be meeting there maker.

The bottom line is no matter the difficulty of the trial, he cares, and he wants to know about it. So pray. No matter how you feel pray. Relating back to the quote from Elder Ballard's talk I just want to say that I think it is important to pray and share your feelings with Heavenly father so that Heavenly father can share his feelings with you. Then you can give back to the community and share with others the things you know to be true!
