Princess

Oh I love Dogs!

Today I just felt like writing a shout out to my puppy.

There must be some real truth to dogs being mans best friend because they are certainly mine.
Recently after years of begging and pleading and praying, my parents finally granted my deepest desire and gave me the perfect puppy!

She is a Morkie FYI: a cross between a Yorkie and a Maltese.

Her name is Princess. ohhh I just LOVE HER!!!

She is really tiny and fun to watch hop around. Yes I said hop. When she runs she looks like a little bunny. Sometimes I wonder if she isn't part rabbit.

Every day I feel really really lucky to wake up and see her big brown eyes staring at me. Sometimes it feels like a dream because I cannot believe that I finally have a dog.

Lately she has begun to discover her voice. Yes barking has become part of her daily life. However many times I tell her to be quiet she still keeps on howling...(its kinda cute)

Running down the stairs is also a new thing. She used to be to scared, but she finally gathered up the courage to do so.

Her eating habits are kind of interesting. Princess enjoys eating crushed up puppy kibble with cottage cheese and sometimes scrambled eggs.. it depends on her mood.

Just Another Day

Today was just one of those days.

Procrastinating my homework again....Shame* Shame*

I woke up late and realized that I had to still write an English paper. I sat down and began to type furiously for an hour and a half.
'
I did not have time to shower so I smelt interesting.

Breakfast was nonexistent and my tummy let me know it.

My hair was frizzy and left over mascara was under my eyes.

When I got to school my crush ignored me (...I wonder why?)

The only good thing is that I had friends that were able to see past my FLAWS and make me feel better about myself.

It was not a fantastic morning and it is days like this where I wonder if I should just stay in my Pj's and watch chick-flicks all day, but if we are not willing to make it through these small trials then how will we get through the large ones?

Thank you for listening to me vent. I feel better now.

See ya!

Is it a Crime to be Different?

Hi  old pals!

What ya up to?

Today the most fantastic thing happened. I had the opportunity to eat Fruit Loops!

Might I say that they are quite delicious. They are also really colorful. My parents do not usually purchase breakfast cereal so this was a real treat.

Anyways I just wanted to share some excitement from my life but know getting onto my topic.

What is the one thing that all teenagers avoid and fear like the plague? What is the one insecurity that deep down inside each human being has experienced  And for those of you who claim you have not, might I just add that I do not believe you

The fear to stand out... The fear of rejection...The fear to be DIFFERENT.

Why do I fear being different? If I am supposed to accomplish anything in life don't I need to stand out and let my voice be heard?

Recently while I sitting in my constitutional studies class. The teacher was gone and so I thought party on!

right?

Well I was obviously wrong when when we had a substitute teacher and we were forced to endure a black and white film from the fifties.

I am sure that the whole class could hear the audible sigh that went on in my mind.

Yet as the movie went on it really caught my interest. It was about a Jury of 12 men that were supposed to decide the out come of a murder trial. An eighteen year old boy had been accused of killing his father and through out the whole court case all fingers were pointed at him.

As the twelve men gathered to decide a verdict eleven of the men pronounced the boy guilty but only one declared that he was not guilty.

In-case you are not aware there needs to be an all or nothing vote in one direction or another. Meaning that one mans vote hindered the jury from pronouncing a verdict.

It must not have been easy for that one man to stand up and say what he thought when everyone else in the room was voting a different way. But if he had gone with the crowd that innocent boy would have been sentenced to death.

One mans decision to be different saved the life of that one teenage boy and the life of his future posterity.

We can learn a valuable lesson from this... Black and White films are Fantastic! (well at least this one was...)

May I add that I think that we each can make a difference if we are willing to be different.

However if we lay in bed and watch I love Lucy re- runs all day with a package of double chocolate rush cookies and a half eaten doughnut we will not be able to help that one person that needs our help that day.

While the rest of the world might bombard you with certain ways that you need to look and act, just tell yourself that you are a child of a King; a Heavenly Father who loves you and you are going to stand against the wind and make a difference in the world for better.

Well I hope that yall have a prodigious day!

Remember who ya aren't !

TTFN!!!!!!!

To kill or not To Kill ... The Mocking Bird

Many Schools are trying to get rid of To Kill A Mocking Bird.

Why?

Lets see shall we. I guess the answer is kinda simple ( although nothing is simple in the world we live in, just look at politics).

Political Correctness.

In the minds of many people they are so afraid of offending anyone that they are willing to cut out a piece of valuable merit literature that is beneficial to teens and young adults. This book teaches the correct principle of a Christ centered attribute “how to love your neighbor as yourself”.

There are many ways that this is demonstrated. One of my personal favorite is when Atticus is appointed to be Tom’s Lawyer in a court case. Because Tom is Black and the Ewells are white it is thought that Atticus would not put up a good fight against the prosecutor. We find that it is actually quite the contrary.

He is like superman coming to the rescue of the poor helpless kitten about to get bulldozed by the train. Only this time Superman knows he cannot get to the kitten in time, but instead of giving up he flies ever faster and will not give up without a fight.

In the end just like the kitten gets ka-splatted by the train Tom is accused of being guilty. Only this time everyone knows that he is innocent.

As I read this I wondered what must have been going through Atticus’s mind. He knew that in the end of the court case he would lose, but what I think he realized was the bigger picture.
He knew that when he died he would have to stand in front of his maker and take full responsibility for not protecting an innocent man. That was a burden that he had no desire to carry.

In other words he might have lost the court case, but in the end Tom and Atticus would win the Heavenly Court case which is what really counts.

u Saved my life I am eternally
Grateful...
So maybe I need to rethink the ending of the superman analogy. I guess in the eternal scheme of things super man was not able to save the kitten from the train, but he was able to take the kitten to the hospital and it had a successful recovery.

There how was that...Seeing a parallel?

No…Well maybe I still need to work on it but ya get the jest of what I am saying.

To Continue another example was Scout trying to understand Boo Radley. She and her brother have had a deep obsession with Boo Radley and have heard many rumors about him.
She says

"Atticus was right. One time he said you never really know a man until you stand in his shoes and walk around in them. Just standing on the Radley porch was enough."

This is Scout realizing that those old rumors about Boo were indeed not true.

In my own life I see myself judging people unfairly whether it is the way they dress or how they acted the one time I met them. But what this book helps point out is that were are all people and we all have feelings. We are each just trying to do the best we can in life and go about our own business. Life already throws enough challenges without having to worry about people thinking nasty untrue things about us.

This quote is so tender because Scout is finally seeing Boo as the Savior would see him and that is the important thing.

Well folks in closing I just want to say that I am not a hundred percent sure why anyone would want to band this book from schools, but I for one am extremely grateful for being able to read it.

So toodaloo! Be fat and happy!

I am going to go watch a movie and put off doing the rest of my homework!

Even More Hot Topics

I think procrastinating has become a real habit.

For that one person that is supposed to comment on my blog this week I apologize because I bet you are really annoyed that this is so late.

Infact I don't think you are even going to read this introduction part because you will be in such a hurry to leave a comment that you will just scim.

May I just say that I am ok with that.

Have a wonderful day and please learn not to procrastinate.

Thank you!

No Nukes on the Korean Peninsula

After reading this article it makes me happy that America is armed and ready if anything where to occur. It is also is slightly unsettling to think that such a strong power like nuclear bombs exists in our world.

Thinking about if a nuclear warfare was to ever actually break out and the whole world being destroyed is a rather depressing topic to comprehend. I understand south Korea’s want to make a nuclear bomb, but I agree with the article where it states that they would be better investing their money in something  else that would help them enhance their security.

The reason I agree is because  the use of nuclear weapons are deadly not just to North Korea but the elimination of the whole world.

A War Before and After

I really liked this article and it was really touching. I don’t think I can even begin to comprehend what it must have felt like to have fought in the Iraq war. The stories and memories that each of these soldiers share makes me feel so grateful for living in a country where men and women have literally died so that I can be free. It is a selfless act.  An act taken for granted to often.

Another thought that I had as I read this article is that these are actual people who wrote this. They each have families. Sometimes when you see a list of reported deaths and casualties in a war it means nothing to you, it is only a number, but not to those families… they  have lost a loved one. They lost a son or daughter, mother or father, husband or wife. This is something that I need to remember every day as I put my hand over my heart and pledge allegiance to the flag.

This article also reminded me that just because the war was over didn’t mean that life would all of a sudden be easy for the veterans that had fought in it.

Hot Topics

Hello.

How are you this fine day? My day was just peachy thanks for asking.

I would like to begin by apologizing for posting so late, but this blog is called "Diary of a Procrastinator" so what more do you expect?

Hmmm... So I tried  posting a comment on the Washington Post and it wouldn't let me publish it So I have the comment I would have published and the link to the article I wrote my comment about. Here it is.

Enjoy!

Illegal immigration. This is something that we have had to deal with for centuries. The solution to this has proved not to be easy and just because the Republican Party doesn’t want to show amnesty to people who have broken the law and made a complete mockery out of all the people who have come here legally all of a sudden makes the GOP look like the bad guy.

In reality the GOP problem with showing amnesty is not that we are heartless; we just think that there is a better way to already uphold the laws we have in place.

It is like that in almost anything, people need to be held responsible for their actions. If they are not then like an obnoxious kitty cat or old girl friend they will walk all over you.

Complete amnesty is like the five year old destroying the bathroom and smearing toothpaste across the mirror and then bieng rewarded with a piece of cheeses cake...NOT FAIR!
Why are we rewarding bad behavior?

First of all I think that as a law of nature marriage should only be between a man and a women. The reason for my reasoning comes through looking at examples of plants. Over the summer I have had the opportunity to work with them quite a bit and you know what I discovered… even plants procreate.

They have two parts a male and female.

Plants are not by any means like humans, but when I discovered this it hit me that if a something as small as a little flower understands, that a man and a women are meant to be together then so should I.

After all who wants to live with the fact that a plant is smarter then them?

I also want it to be clear that I don’t have anything against homosexuals, I just do not want them to pass laws for a small minority group and redefine marriage as it will prevent affect everyone and not just the homosexual community.

I am now done and going to go get ready for school. Too-da-loo!

A portrait of me through Poetry

Some call me a nerd
Others point and say "hey you"
Many call me Kayla
To all I am known as Mikaela

All of this is me.

Yes it tis I
The person who does not like walking on tile in bare feet
The teenager who still sleeps with stuffed animals
The human who doesn't want to
be rejected. And the girl
who blasts
Taylor swift throughout
The house all day long ad empathizes with the lyrics.

All of this is me.

My siblings trickle down the line all of them after me.
Ryan, with blond hair and freckles.
He is my best friend. I confide in him about all my deepest fears,
my dreams, and who I have a crush on.
David is the next, with his vibrant personality
and strawberry blond hair to match.
Then comes Michelle and Mikelle. They are not
Twins but appear to be one in there
girly squeaks and squeals.
These are my siblings. I love them.

All of this is me.

I love cuddling up and watching a movie late
at night with a bowl of BYU Cookies and Cream.
I love going to the temple with friends,
and sitting with contempt  knowing
what we are doing is the work of Lord
Like anyone else I love
Getting praised for a job well done.

All of this is me.

I am the person who fears the thought of rejection.
Has a fear  of being misunderstood
and judged unfairly.
\Yet one of my greatest fears is being
without a friend.
Because that means you don't have
anyone to confide in.
I always need someone to confide in.

All of this is me.

Today I feel tired,
Yesterday I felt excited
And last week I felt cold.
The way I feel
Changes like a change in the wind.

All of this is me.

I am a person who needs to be loved
I thrive off of attention,
I need to be reasurred and I NEED
to be told that you care.

All of this is me.

I like to give my all in no matter what I do. (sometimes...)
I am an overachiever when it comes to anything
I like to eat more then my fare share in
Ice cream . I also try to give my time to younger siblings
and try to help them through there
struggles.

All of this is me.

I would like the to see the sun gently kiss the ocean
when it sets, as I sit on a bench in front of
the San Diego temple holding the hand
of  a guy that I Love
I  want to watch Cockapoo puppies chase
my younger siblings in delight under the
warmth of a summer's sun.
I want to see what it actually be like
if I could Hie to Kolab.

All of this is me.

I live in a world of confussion with many
People who don't know who they are.
But I do.
I live in a state refferd to as Mormon Ville.
I go to a school where I am
Lucky enough to have friends that share
my standards.

All of this is me.

I am A child of God, seeking the truth just like you.

This is defiantly me!

Arnson

This my Icecream

The sun I want to see set

This is Where I want
To get Married

My Savior Jesus Christ

P. S. This was really long and I apologize (I guess makeing things overly long is just me). I commend you on your bravery for reading it and guess what...you are now done. Pat yourself on the back and eat a bowl of strawberries; you might even need to take a nap.

Toodels! See ya later peeps.

So Ya Wanna Be A Jedi?

How ya doing ol' chummies?

I am doing quite fine thanks for asking!

Today I was thinking about how awesome it would be if I were actually a Jedi knight... I mean come on who doesn't like Star Wars?

And then I realized that I still had to write a blog post, and so then it dawned on me like an inspiration sent from Heaven...I can write my blog post on how to become a Jedi knight.

So sit back, relax, and take good notes as I walk you through the different steps of becoming in-tune with your inner force.

STEP ONE:

The first step is you must realize that the life of a Jedi knight is only for a chosen few. You need to look inside yourself and ask if you are one of the chosen.

If you feel a burning sensation--close to how you feel with indigestion-- Then you could be one of the chosen... either that or it is just the nachos you had for lunch.

STEP TWO

If you happen to have any contacts within the Galactic senate then feel free to go ahead and use them.! If you are in no such luck like most of us out here in the galaxy then go and have your parents dress up like surrogates and have them admit you to the Jedi Academy.

For those of you who are orphans do not fret.  There is still hope for you. You might just have to wait for a Jedi to come and discover you.

After all it worked for Anakin  didn't it?

STEP THREE

Prepare yourself for the Jedi lifestyle. The rules and restrictions are similar to that you will find when you serve a mission.

Kiss your dating life good-bye. You do not want to end up like Anakin.

Prepare to never see your family again because  as sad as this may appear, it is a likely possibility. DUN..DUN..DUNNN!!!!

STEP FOUR

Now after you have prepared yourself you need to listen to your Masters at all cost.
Even if they make no sense in talk in jibberish.

"adkhjfa;jfoauif"

"Wait what?"

"alskhfja;jhi "

"And doing that will save my life how?"

Doing what they tell you will protect your life... at least until you mess up.

Along with this you must study.

I know you don't want to, but stop, complaining because you will only thank me later.

STEP FIVE

This is very important. Do not use the  force unless it absolutely necessary  And no--Getting Ice cream out of the fridge is not a necessary cause- Well, maybe if it is cookies and cream flavor...

STEP SIX

Please what ever you do, do not be tempted by the dark side!

Even if they tell you they have cookies, don't believe them...it's a lie.

STEP SEVEN
I realize that you have a really spiffy light sabor, but you are not allowed to go around playing with it.

Instead perfect your Jedi skills, and become cooler then master Yoda.

(Actually that is not possible, but it is my job to fuel you up with false hope).

STEP EIGHT

Oh my little Jedi is all grown up....Im a gonna misss ya:'(

You are now a Jedi Knight so go out and save the universe!
THE END

There ya go folks. I hope this is helpful throughout your life! Or at least as you try and quickly complete your homework assignment.

Random baby Yoda..

Awkward Elevator Moments

Even Luke has awkward Elevator Moments
Whats up peeps?

(Oh how I hope it is before nine o'clock so I can get full credit...)

Have ya ever wondered how to train your dragon? I have, but I am not going to tell you.

Today I am going to inform you about how to be Awkward In An Elevator. This is not very hard to do, but it is indeed entertaining.

So here it goes.

Step One: The first thing you need to do is locate an elevator in a public place where a lot of people will be.

For example, a hotel elevator, an elevator at your dads office, or even an elevator at an old peoples apartment complex. The main concern is that there just needs to be other people besides yourself using it.

Step Two: This is where the fun starts!

Ok, so picture this. You are inside the elevator and it is just you and one other person. Rarely, do two strangers talk in an elevator.

Your job is to say something that will just freak people out. Here are some sample phrases that are bound to do a good job.
  • Crack open your briefcase or purse. Pretend there is a small creature in it, and while peering inside, ask: "Got enough air/room in there?"
  • *Keep a straight face and say "I need to find a more suitable host body" in a really creepy voice, but with no expression on your face
  • In a crowded elevator Remain quiet and then suddenly announce, "Oh dear I forgot to use deodorant."

Step Three: Instead of talking to be awkward, just stare.

As soon as you see someone enter the elevator, turn your body toward them and just stare, It will be enough to give them the creeps.

Step Four: Now it is time to try Whistling and Singing.

This will defiantly make people judge you. I suggest whistling an annoying song that like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star over and over again.

Step Five: If you have done all the other above suggestions I recommend now doing relaxation exercises.

And I don't just mean some silent meditation. I mean full on yoga master!

Try to get the people involved with you and they will either join in or give you blank stares and pretend to be deaf.

Step Six: After completing a Yoga Session, it is now time to talk to your imaginary friend.

Have an in depth conversation, as if he were a real person.

laugh at his Jokes...Discuss his problems...and be prepared when the people in the elevator want to take you to an insane asylum.

Step Seven. This is the final step and very important.

LEAVE THE ELEVATOR WITH DIGNITY!

As soon as those doors open, step out and pretend that nothing out of the ordinary happened and walk away.

Besides It's not like you will ever see these people again...right?

And that My friends, is how to be awkward in an Elevator(:

So this was my How to guide. I hope that it is very much enjoyed by you guys. Have a magical evening and I wish the Boy's and Girls Basket ball teams the best of Luck!
Go patriots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh and one more thing. I still want a Cockapoo-- just wanted to let you know...

 Good evening!
Isn't he a cutie...

Something to Read if you Are Bored...

HI YALL!!!!

I just decided to do a random wacky Quote page. So here it is...enjoy!
